The creation of a Redevelopment Area provides a community with the ability to provide a focused planning effort to help reverse physical, economic, or social decline that has taken place.

• The Downtown Redevelopment Area contains Henderson’s most mature neighborhoods, including the Water Street District. Formed in 1995 to revitalize and attract new investment to the area, the Redevelopment Agency has made great strides in seeing these goals come to fruition.
• Through public/private partnerships, commercial and residential grant programs, public art, and infrastructure improvements, the City of Henderson, through its Redevelopment Agency, is effecting a dramatic change. The Downtown commercial corridor, known as the Water Street District, is a place to shop unique boutiques, dine in one-of-a-kind restaurants, play in classic casinos, enjoy the craft beer breweries and taverns, and be part of incredible special events. The Water Street District offers businesses with a little bit of history and a whole lot of enjoyment. It’s not your typical shopping, dining and entertainment experience. But then again, that’s the point.
